MY story

Looking back, I think the signs were always there.

Even when I was young, I was already finding little ways to make something from what I had, selling old things from around the house at garage sales.

That curiosity led me to study Entrepreneurship.

In 2014, I moved to Australia from the Philippines and began building a new life across Sydney and Melbourne. My early career was centred around people. I worked across leadership, learning and development, human resources and workplace culture.

What I loved most was helping people grow, building strong teams and creating environments where people could do their best work.

Then, during COVID, I stepped into an entirely new industry and, despite having no previous hospitality experience, opened SÚPERCHIDO, an authentic Mexican restaurant in Seddon with two business partners.

What began as a bold idea became an unexpectedly successful business and eventually grew into CDMX, which now has locations in Melbourne Central and Brunswick East.

Like most small business owners, I wore almost every hat along the way, from working in the kitchen and front of house to working in the bar, marketing, operations and everything in between.

The part I loved most was shaping the brand, building meaningful partnerships and bringing events to life, including opportunities with the Australian Open and Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

I later joined Lune Croissanterie’s executive team as National Operations Manager for a year, leading all Australian locations in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

In late 2025, having realised that my strengths and passion lie in events, I founded Gertrude Events with three business partners. Together, we deliver everything from all-inclusive catering and drinks services to brand activations, event coordination and memorable experiences tailored to each client.

Alongside Gertrude, I wanted to create space for work that feels more personal to me. Something thoughtful, flexible and entirely my own.

This is where I share what I’ve learned along the way: the wins, the lessons and everything in between.

It is also the home of my freelance consulting work, where I bring a practical, hands-on perspective to ideas, projects and businesses that need clarity, direction or an experienced pair of hands.
